In 2010 he gained membership of the Royal College of Surgeons after having attained a further joint qualification from the Faculty of Dental Surgeons and the Faculty of General Dental Practice. In 2019, Simon gained a Masters degree in Healthcare Law and Ethics from the University of Dundee and now works part time as a Dento-legal Adviser for a UK-wide medical indemnity organisation.

Simon is one of our providers of ‘Conscious Sedation’. Throughout his time at the practice he has helped hundreds of ‘Dental Phobics’ achieve oral health via the experienced provision of sedation. This type of sedation allows patients to float calmly and safely through the types of dental treatments they might otherwise have avoided.

Another of Simon’s focuses within the practice is with the provision of cosmetic dentistry: "Whether it be the complex realignment of crooked teeth using the innovative ‘Quick Straight Teeth’ short term orthodontic system, or something as straight-forward as replacing dark fillings with tooth coloured alternatives, I always find the reward comes when the patient returns in 6 months with a beaming smile… actually happy to see their Dentist and show me how well they are doing".

As well as being a full time Dentist at the Practice, Simon also serves as an elected member and office bearer of the Greater Glasgow Local Dental Committee. This group of like-minded professionals serve to support Dentists in our local area and liaise with the governing bodies of the NHS. This helps to ensure that the needs of our own patients are represented on multiple fronts.

When Simon isn’t here calming the anxieties of our patients, he can often be found putting his own nerves to the test. Now a qualified free-fall skydiver, one of his favourite pastimes is jumping out of airplanes!

Most importantly though, the main focus of Simon’s practice is and always will be to provide the highest level of care to his loyal patients and their families, ensuring their continued oral health: "When I first joined the practice I was amazed by how loyal patients were to my predecessor. Generations of the same families had been coming for decades and I couldn’t believe that a modern and innovative practice could have such a deep rooted clientele. I had big boots to fill and am really touched that they have all stuck with me over the years and shown me the same loyalty".
